Ayana Mathis

Ayana Mathis a grandi dans les quartiers nord de Philadelphie. Férue de poésie, elle suit plusieurs cursus universitaires sans d'abord en terminer aucun, travaille comme serveuse puis fact-checker dans divers magazines. en 2009, elle participe au programme de Creative Writing de l'Université de l'iowa sous la direction de Marilynne Robinson. Quelques mois plus tard, elle termine son premier roman, Les Douze Tribus d'Hattie, qui connaîtra un succès international.
